24/7 Receptionist Call Starting action

The 24/7 Receptionist Call starting action is used when you want your workflow to be triggered automatically whenever a new 24/7 Receptionist Call is completed.

What is the 24/7 Receptionist? 

The 24/7 Receptionist is an AI agent that handles inbound calls 24/7. 

Before you can use this starting action, make sure you have set up your 24/7 Receptionist. If you have not, speak to Build Concierge support for more information on how to set this up.

⚠️ Note

The 24/7 Receptionist currently handles inbound calls only. It will soon also handle inbound Emails, SMS and WhatsApp messages too.


Configuration

There is no configuration needed to set up the 24/7 Receptionist Call starting action, simply:

  1. Open the Workflow Editor.
  2. Drag and drop the node into the Workflow Editor empty space.

  3. Add an action node and connect it to the 24/7 Receptionist Call starting action node.

The workflow will now trigger each time a call handled by the 24/7 Receptionist is completed.

Once triggered, the data coming from the call can be used to power downstream actions such as AI analysis, notifications to relevant stakeholders, automated replies, job creation, or contact creation in another tool.


Outcome(s)

As with all Starting action nodes, this node has only one outcome, which is Complete.

Default variables / Outputs

The Incoming WhatsApp Starting action provides several outputs that can be used as variables later in your workflow:

  • Name – The customer's name.

  • Phone – The phone number that called the Receptionist.

  • Recipient – Who the customer was calling for (if they named a specific person or team internally).

  • Message - The message left by the customer with the agent.


Example uses

Some typical example use cases for using the 24/7 Receptionist Call starting action are:

  • Automatically reply to a customer who left a message with the receptionist using an Extract Text node and a Send Email node.

  • Extract job request information from the call to book a job in BigChange or another tool.

  • Route urgent support messages to the right team instantly.

You can combine the 24/7 Receptionist starting action with an AI Prompt node to classify intent, extract structured data, or detect sentiment before taking action.
